About the author
Kerry Howard is an AMI-trained Montessori educator, author, and founder of MontessoriCares.org. With more than 40 years of experience working with children and families across South Africa, Italy, and the United States, she has dedicated her career to helping children develop independence, confidence, and a love of learning through authentic Montessori education.
Kerry helped establish Montessori schools in underserved communities in South Africa and later taught for five years and served as Assistant Director for two years at the historic Anglo Italian Montessori School in Naples, Italy. After moving to the United States, she continued supporting children and families through Montessori home education programs and individualized learning environments.
In 2015, Kerry founded MontessoriCares.org, a nonprofit initiative that provided more than 4,000 sets of Montessori learning materials to refugee children living in camps in Greece and Italy.
Drawing on decades of classroom experience, Kerry created Montessori Life Skills Storybooks™, a series of children's books that combine authentic Montessori principles with engaging stories that help children develop practical life skills, grace and courtesy, emotional awareness, concentration, and independence. Her books are used by parents, teachers, homeschoolers, and Montessori schools seeking literature that reflects the developmental needs of young children.
Kerry is also the creator of the Montessori Life Skills App, designed to help families bring authentic Montessori practices into everyday life through simple, practical lessons and activities.
Through her books, educational resources, and advocacy, Kerry continues her mission of helping children become capable, confident, and compassionate individuals.
