More Than a Method
This lineage represents more than names on a timeline. Montessori was passed from one educator to another through training, observation, precise presentations, prepared environments and, above all, years spent observing and understanding children. Kerry carried those lessons into her own classrooms and ultimately into decades of work with children and families.
Over 40 years, she has watched children develop independence through meaningful work, concentration through purposeful activity, confidence through mastery, and compassion through learning to care for themselves, others and their environment. Those experiences became the foundation for Montessori Life Skills Company LLC.

Kerry believes preserving Montessori does not mean allowing it to stand still. It means understanding its foundations deeply enough to carry them forward with integrity.
The world in which today's children are growing is very different from the world Maria Montessori knew. Yet the fundamental qualities Montessori recognized in children—the desire to explore, to work, to become independent and to participate meaningfully in their world—remain remarkably unchanged.
Montessori Life Skills Company LLC was created from that understanding: to preserve the depth and integrity of Montessori education while finding new, meaningful ways for its principles and practices to reach today's children, parents, caregivers and educators.

About the author
Kerry Howard is an AMI-trained Montessori educator, author, and founder of MontessoriCares.org. With more than 40 years of experience working with children and families across South Africa, Italy, and the United States, she has dedicated her career to helping children develop independence, confidence, and a love of learning through authentic Montessori education.
Kerry helped establish Montessori schools in underserved communities in South Africa and later taught for five years and served as Assistant Director for two years at the historic Anglo Italian Montessori School in Naples, Italy, where she also worked as Assistant to Alba Fedele, a direct student of Maria Antonietta Paolini and a leading Montessori educator in Naples. After moving to the United States, she continued supporting children and families through Montessori home education programs and individualized learning environments.
In 2015, Kerry founded MontessoriCares.org, a nonprofit initiative that provided more than 4,000 sets of Montessori learning materials to refugee children living in camps in Greece and Italy.
Drawing on decades of classroom experience, Kerry created the Montessori Life Skills App, a complete Montessori primary curriculum for ages 2–6, and the Montessori Life Skills Story Books™, a series of books that combine authentic Montessori principles with engaging stories. The App and the books are separate products, each complete in its own way; together they help children develop practical life skills, grace and courtesy, emotional awareness, concentration, and independence. They are used by parents, teachers, homeschoolers, and Montessori schools seeking curriculum and literature that reflects the developmental needs of young children.
The Montessori Life Skills App guides families through the same scope and sequence Kerry has used in classrooms for over 40 years, turning everyday home routines into meaningful Montessori lessons. The Story Books introduce the same principles through calm, relatable stories that children ask for again and again.
Through her books, educational resources, and advocacy, Kerry continues her mission of helping children become capable, confident, and compassionate individuals.
